The Legal Garage, a division of the legal clinic at the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal, is launching an innovative pilot project thanks to Novartis Canada’s support: a legal clinic for entrepreneurs working in the health sector.In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic revealed the limits of the healthcare system and its vulnerability to crises. More than ever, we must turn our attention to creating innovative solutions from the entrepreneurial sector that can ease the burden on healthcare professionals – either by directly supporting their work or by promoting prevention and population well-being.With this in mind, the Legal Garage with the support of Novartis Canada has a message for all entrepreneurs with projects in the health sector: whether you are seeking to understand possible legal structures for your business, regulations governing the sale of food or health products, or legal issues related to digital health technologies, we are here to provide guidance!
THIS PILOT PROJECT INCLUDES FOUR OBJECTIVES:
  1. Inform entrepreneurs about the legal aspects surrounding the development of projects in the health sector;
  2. Train and raise awareness among law students about interdisciplinary issues;
  3. Promote access to quality legal information for entrepreneurs with projects aimed at improving the Quebec healthcare system;
  4. Encourage the mobilization of legal knowledge by disseminating accessible and relevant content to the entrepreneurial community.
WHEN

The pilot project will begin on March 2, 2026, and end on April 1, 2027.
